Qlik February 2021 release — the new Qlik Sense features
The year 2021 starts with a new order of Qlik Sense release releases. From now on, the new Client Managed versions will be released in the middle of a quarter; the new features in Qlik Sense SaaS will be published and released continuously. We would like to present the new features of the Qlik Sense Enterprise February 2021 version in detail here:

Qlik Sense visualizations
There are two new visualization objects in Qlik Sense February 2021. The grid diagram or grid chart is very useful for depicting distributions or comparisons of two dimensions in a clear matrix or grid.
The video player object enables the integration of moving images, such as YouTube videos. This increases the interactivity of Qlik Sense apps and can be a useful addition, especially in connection with expanding data literacy, for example to directly integrate how-tos or tutorials for applying the analyses in Qlik Sense.
Master elements in expressions
Master key figures can now be addressed directly in the formula editor. In our opinion, this improves clarity enormously. It also simplifies development and makes it easier to reuse formulas and logics. For example, when key figures are reused or even nested in master elements.
Conditionally display worksheets
A well-known feature from QlikView is to control the visibility of a worksheet using Boolean conditions (is either true or false). In this way, information can simply be hidden or displayed, depending on the facts or user access. This can be set under “display conditions” in the worksheet properties. The function is only relevant for users — app developers always see all sheets of paper.
Reload function via button in Qlik Sense
What really contributes to user autonomy is the ability to assign reload tasks to objects from now on. For example, users can simply update their data via a “reload button” in the interface by controlling the data loading process in the app.
Clarity in Sense Hub
Another new feature in the Qlik Sense February 2021 version is the customization of the hub landing page. There, you can simply arrange the various objects individually by dragging and dropping. Navigation in the hub is also improved via a standardized toolbar. In this, various areas such as the Qlik Management Console or the “My Qlik” area can now be directly accessed.
Integrated Qlik Data Catalog
The topic of data catalog is now available in Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS. Qlik is thus pursuing its holistic “data-first” strategy and rounds it off with the Qlik Data Catalog function. Data sources and paths can thus be better documented and categorized.
Redesigned SAP connector in Qlik Sense
The revised connectors for connecting SAP systems represent significant added value for SAP customers. The two well-known Qlik Sense Infoproviders and BEx connectors are being replaced by a new combined Qlik SAP BW connector. With the help of a variety of settings, you can access SAP structures very easily and in detail.
