Qlik Sense November 2020 Release – die Neuerungen
With the last software release in 2020, Qlik is once again publishing some new features in Qlik Sense, which we would like to briefly present here. Please note that the functions of the perpetual version differ from those of the online/ Saas offerings!

Qlik alerting as an integral part of Qlik SaaS
What needs to be added as an extra module for the OnPremise variant is now integrated as standard functionality in the online version of Qlik Sense: The alerting function for automatic notifications based on data or conditions thereon in an app, meaning that alerts in the form of email notifications can be integrated into individual objects or key figures. Qlik is thus equipping the SaaS offering with further useful functions to make the cloud offering even more attractive.
Improved Insight Advisor or “Insights” feature
Charts and graphics generated by the Insight Advisor can now be easily added to the start page in Sense Hub. For example, individual objects or representations of key figures can be integrated into the start page as a tile in order to be able to monitor them better there. In the European SaaS version, this feature has not yet been activated — we expect this to happen at the beginning of 2021.
Easier editing
Many Qlik Sense users will be pleased with the new copy features. In this way, key figures in the object can be copied simply by clicking on them to transfer them to another object, for example. You can also copy entire worksheets to integrate them into another app — a very powerful function, but care should be taken to ensure that both applications are based on the same data model.
Qlik Sense Enterprise Client Managed
With the November version, several improvements have also been released in the use of the OnPrem Server version of Qlik Sense Enterprise. For example, the width of the stream bar in the hub can be adjusted — a small but very useful function, especially for long stream names that were otherwise only displayed in truncated form.
The applications in the OnPrem Hub can now also be listed in a table view. A useful addition to the list and icon display, especially if you want to manage many apps in the stream or select for specific detailed information.
In hybrid environments, where, in addition to the “Qlik Sense Enterprise Client Managed” variant, one or more SaaS instances are also operated in the cloud, the MultiCloud distribution function is now very helpful. This allows you to publish the app to the cloud simply by clicking on the context menu of an overview. In the Qlik Sense Cloud Enterprise management console, all you have to do is assign this app. An overview of all published apps can also be found in the management console in the OnPrem Windows environment.
visualizations
Finally, a reference to a useful extension of the visualizations. Graphics can now be included in the tooltip displays that appear when you mouse-over an object. A smart way to add additional visual information to an element — for example in the case of product or article images — “as needed.”
The integration of images into tooltips works in map objects but also in tree charts, combo charts, scatter plots and line charts.
