Qlik licensing conversion
Qlik subscription only — the end of Qlik purchase/perpetual licensing? From April 2021, new Qlik licenses can only be purchased via the subscription model. This applies to Qlik Sense, QlikView, Qlik Data Integration, and so on.

Changes for Qlik Sense users
Existing Qlik Sense Server installations can thus be retained in your licensing. Additional new user licenses (Professional or Analyzer User) or modules such as NPrinting, Qlik Alerting or Qlik Insight Advisor (Chat) are now simply rented. It is therefore possible to operate both license models in parallel, as a mix model of purchase licenses with software maintenance and rental licenses.
In addition, the existing Qlik Sense purchase licenses can be converted 1:1 into subscription licenses. The annual expenses correspond exactly to the amount of previous license maintenance. Initially, a rental period of 3 years is concluded. This will be extended for another year at the end if no change is made to the contract.
Customers who want to switch to Qlik Sense's powerful cloud solution right away can switch to the Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS subscription by the end of 2021 at no additional cost compared to Qlik Sense maintenance fees.
Changes for QlikView users
First of all: there is no need to switch to the rental model with your QlikView installation! However, if you want to add new users, there is no way around switching to the subscription model or choosing the Qlik Analytics Modernization Program (AMP).
Like many other manufacturers, Qlik is now moving towards more flexible rental models. With all due respect, this development is not really without explanation, especially for existing customers. Feel free to contact us for a free consultation on how you too can future-proof your Qlik installation.
